Spanish Immersion Camp

Dates: July 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, and
August 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18 

Time: 1:00-3:30pm

Description: Students PreK-4th grade, grouped by age and ability, participate in a Spanish Immersion summer program directed by Sra. Saturno. She has 12 years of experience teaching in Spanish Immersion programs and has also taught 13 years of early childhood education. 

Who is this Camp for? English and Spanish speakers, in the immersion program or not. Immersion students prevent summer slide and non-immersion students are grouped to practice at their level. 

Daily Schedule: 

1:00- silly Spanish songs, storytelling, and movement

1:30- Spanish book time

2:00- Spanish language centers 

2:45- Spanish art and STEM

What does immersion mean? Immersion means that the target language spoken is Spanish. If a child needs support understanding, we use demonstrations, movements, signs, and photos as the first level of support. Also, children will translate to their peers, or the teacher can switch into English if necessary.
